1,500 years of history in three days

This route covers the ancient core of Sri Lanka: the 5th-century rock fortress of Sigiriya rising out of the jungle, the painted cave temples of Dambulla, and Kandy's Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. A local historian guide brings the sites to life with stories the guidebooks skip, and the pace stays relaxed — early starts to beat the heat and crowds, free afternoons to rest.
